Choosing the Right Mattress

When purchasing anything that’s going to be a high purchase item, it can be time consuming and a little tiresome, but rushing into purchasing something with little, or no research can be even more frustrating. First thing is the comfort, this is usually determined by the firmness of the mattress, starting at soft, going up to ultra hard. The filling will determine if the mattress is soft or hard, and also the sensation when lying down. Mattresses are either sprung, or full foam.

The two types of sprung products are either coil springs, that are larger and connect from top to bottom, causing the entire surface to move when in use. Pocket springs are much smaller, and made from plastic. They start with around a thousand springs which are foam encapsulated, and only the ares being used will move. These are usually recommended when sharing the bed, and one of the people is larger than the other.

Full foam mattresses are also popular, with two main materials used inside, either a silicone based gel, commonly known as memory foam. The other being a reflex foam, which is much harder due to its high density. A layer of memory foam will sit on the reflex foam to provide more cushioning, or if a harder mattress is preferred then a full reflex is the better option. For a ultra firm mattress a full reflex high density foam will be best suited.
